Tragic Bulli Pass Crash Claims 14-Year-Old
Master Arthur H Scattergood, 14, of South Campbelltown, died at Bulli Hospital after a New Year’s Eve lorry crash on Bulli Pass Devil Elbow. Driver tried to steer the overturned vehicle. Arthur suffered base skull fracture, others had minor injuries. Funeral held Sunday with about 300 mourners.

Mr Eugene C White of Railway Street sustained abrasions to his right leg when his motor cycle collided with a car on Railway Street at the Queen Street junction. The car was driven by Mr A Siebert of Clark Road Hornsby. W Moffatt provided first aid and Dr Mawson treated White before he was taken home.

Crashed into a Bridge on New Year’s Day
Mr Arthur Selby and passenger John Anderson were in a side car when a rut on the Western road near a bridge caused a skid. Selby suffered a fractured skull and possible internal injuries and was taken to Penrith Hospital unconscious. Anderson, dazed and bleeding, was treated and went home after his head wound was dressed. The motor cycle was badly damaged.
