Campbelltown Aldermen and spouses gathered at the Hotel Campbelltown for a five hour Mayoral Banquet hosted by Mayor and Mayoress Alderman Solomon. Guests included Deputy Mayor Sedgwick and numerous council members from Campbelltown, Ingleburn, Minto, Wedderburn and Macquarie Fields. The event featured toasts to the King, the Mayor and Mayoress, the Deputy Mayor, the council staff, bankers, and the ladies with remarks on amalgamation and upcoming municipal duties.
The Campbelltown district enjoyed a calm Christmas with well attended church services, choirs performing anthems and hymns, and many campers along George's River benefitting from ideal weather. Refreshment rooms and milk bars stayed busy, and no one faced shortages during the four days. The editor wishes readers a happy and prosperous new year.
