At a special Nepean Shire meeting held in Bringelly Council Chambers last week Dr T G Scott was unanimously re elected as President. He thanked colleagues and expressed hope for a successful year ahead. In Appin a Christmas tree event drew a large crowd despite bad weather with Santa Claus visiting and stalls selling surprise packets.

Presentation to Barling family at St James parish
Before departing the district after years of residence the Barling family received gifts from St James Church parishioners and friends. The ceremony followed a November 26 rain cancellation and occurred after Sunday service with Rector Rev.
