Camtown split December meets carding a 44 41 win over University with standout performances by Brian Blow and Rex Roser. The squad posted top finishes across events including wins in high jump and discus and multiple runner ups. In the following December 13 meet Camtown lost 42 33 to Northern Suburbs, with Hermann Meijer and Brian Blow leading the team in sprints and field events.

Pension payments over the Christmas period will be made at the local Post Office. Old Age and Invalid pensions due on December 25 are paid on Tuesday December 23. Widows Pension due on December 26 and 30 will be paid on the due dates, and Child Endowments will be paid on December 30.
Preston Guild Merchant Returns After Thirty Year Hiatus
Over a million people from around the world attended the 1942 Preston Guild Merchant the first since 1912. The seven day festival revived a long‑standing chartered tradition dating to 1328 with city processions of giant floats showcasing trades and crafts and an industrial exhibition featuring jet aircraft to gold lace. The Canberra bomber was carried in the Trades and Industries procession.
