Reelection of Mayor and Deputy Mayor at Aldermen Meeting

A special aldermen meeting Tuesday fixed the 1947 mayoral allowance at 25. Retiring Mayor Ald Solomon and Deputy Mayor Ald Sedgwick were unanimously re elected. The mayor received congratulations from all aldermen for his service in 1946 and thanked them for their loyalty and cooperation.

Christmas Vacation Leads to Hidden Point Seekers

Mr Glesson a Sheriffs Officer and family vacation at Hyams Bay Jervis Bay over Christmas. Mr D J Chernich plans annual break and will be away from his surgery from December 23 for about three weeks. He is believed to be hiding in Greenwell Point or Forster.

Death of Arthur Bentley of Leumeah at 60

Arthur Bentley aged 60 of Leumeah died suddenly at home last Sunday after a period of ill health. He leaves a widow and a large family and was a brother of P W Bentley of Orange Grove East Minto. Funeral held Monday with burial in St Peter's Church of England cemetery. He served in World War I in the ALF.

Juvenile Ball Draws Tiny Dancers in Campbelltown Town Hall

The 1946 Juvenile Ball under Campbelltown P and C Association lit up the Town Hall last Tuesday with hundreds of children in costumes from swimsuits to national royalty. Head-master Mr. Reece received many gifts, including a wrapped box of matches that sparked laughter as he unwrapped it, marking the school’s Xmas break.

Campbelltown Jurors District Seeks Expanded Radius

At the Campbell town Court House on Wednesday presiding judge E. E. Hirst led a meeting of Campbelltown’s Jurors District. Discussion focused on jury panel strain from growing Quarter Sessions cases and proposed expanding the jurors radius from ten to at least twenty miles with a thorough canvas for eligible jurymen.

Miss Patricia Callinan is a patient at St. Vincent's Hospital with appendicitis. Valerie Muir, longtime Campbelltown employee at Russell Bros, resigns and heads to Young to care for her ill mother. Muir, once Welcome Home Queen, leaves amid gifts and well wishes from the town.
