In Campbelltown Alderman Phillip Solomon was re elected Mayor unopposed last Tuesday evening ensuring unanimous support from aldermen and likely ratepayers. Alderman F J Sedgwick was also re elected Deputy Mayor. An annual Mayor’s allowance of £25 was set for the term. In Camden Alderman H S Kelloway was re elected Mayor unopposed with £60 allowance, and Alderman R L Daniels became Deputy Mayor.

Camden Stock Sales Report Marks Strong Attendance and Varied Prices
Last Tuesday rain affected Camden stock sales with solid buyer turnout and keen competition. Pigs and calves showed firm to high prices while cattle across fat beefy, store and calved categories met strong demand. Prices ranged from porkers £4 1/6 to £5 8/6 and calves from £2 2/6 to £5 1/6, cattle several ranges up to £15 5/-.
Dancers Win Certificates at Railway Eisteddfod
Three pupils from Mrs Lowe s dancing studio excel at the Railway Eisteddfod Betty Rooke won two certificates Wendy Spinklnd two certificates and Janet Lowe a medal and a certificate No dancing this Saturday as Mrs Lowe is away judging at Cowra Dancing resumes next Saturday as usual

Campbelltown Red Cross Street Stall Raises Funds
The Campbelltown Red Cross branch held a successful quarterly street stall on Saturday the 6th, realising £12 2s 1d. Prizes were won by Mrs. Smart Senr and Mrs. P. Bentley. Members listed, and a donation plan approved: £7 16s 6d to the Malahide home fund, £2 for Christmas Cheer, and £50 to NSW division general funds. A Xmas stall is urged for the 18th inst.

Concert for Beverley Park Raises £25 for Campbelltown Charity
A Town Hall Campbell town concert on Friday 5 December benefited the Crippled Children's Home Beverley Park Campbelltown. Organized by Mrs. Ben Lowe and pupils with local and visiting artists, the show featured performances by Mrs. B Thorburn Miss M Triglone Stan Towers Ron Lambourne L Hepher and others. The pupils of Mrs. Lowe including Janet Lowe and her dance group led the main program.

Milk Zone Dairymens Council hears inquiry on costs
Secretary L C Turton testified at the Public Inquiry into Milk Prices in Sydney. He described arrangements with cost consultants to audit farm costs across the zone since June 1946 and how wages fodder and hours were calculated. Mrs Glencross urged tax relief and more housewives on the Board noting the dairy industry health and post war reconstruction.

Better Roads Urges Funds For Shire Roadworks
Dr A R Townsend president of the Shires Association said a golden opportunity to carry out urgently needed road maintenance was lost due to the Commonwealth Government not releasing enough Petrol Tax for Roads. He noted winter and spring offered labour, materials were available on site, and most roads are gravel surfaced.
