The Campbelltown P and C Association met on August 9 with nine of 400 members present. Fern Thorburn and Bobby Moore won prizes for selling the most membership tickets, fundraising £20 10s. They plan to obtain a duplicator for class assignments. Attendance fell to a low point but improved above 90 percent as weather improved. The four weeks saw the best weekly class attendance by the younger grades. A joint concert by Mrs B Lowe and Campbelltown Public School on August 11 was a success with door takings of 1. The hall was packed and chairs were lent by Mr Buttenshaw to prevent crowding. School vacation runs from August 26 to September 12.

Death of Cyril Curtis of Hiderslie at 50
Cyril Curtis of Hiderslie died at District Hospital on Friday August 4 at age 50. He served 31 years with the N S W Railway, later worked with his son at Ferndale Elderalie, and is survived by his widow two children Joyce and Jim and two grandchildren. Funeral was at St Thomas Church of England Natellan.
