The Milk Zone Dairymen's Council met in Sydney to decide on supplying milk next winter amid potential rationing. A split opinion favored two seasonal prices. another favored individual quotas. Votes showed 13 to 11 for two prices, and near unanimity for individual quotas when extending the milk zone.
Nepean Shire Engineer J G McGowan, who had been precluded from overseas service due to illness and age, notified council his leave would end in July and he was ready to resume duties on 1 August 1944. At a 28 July special meeting, council, under National Security Regulations, approved the request to resume as engineer from 1 August 1944.
Claire Irene Stella Lack and Driver Eric John Knapp were married at St John’s Catholic Church Campbelltown on July 28 with families present. The ceremony featured the AIF uniform groom, a large reception at the Hotel Campbelltown, telegrams from distant friends, and a brief Blue Mountains honeymoon.
Jessie Rose Clark daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Clark Wanby 81 and Corporal Alexander John Baxter AIF youngest son of the late Mrs Baxter Cairng Queensland married at St Peters Church of England Campbelltown in a full military ceremony. Attendants were from the AWMWS Concord and the AIF. Honeymoon to Port Macquarie.
Two local birthday parties were held in Campbelltown Scouts Hall last month. Mr Kirwin Rixon celebrated his 78th birthday with a large gathering organized by Ald J W Stradling and others, featuring dancing, singing, and a sumptuous supper. Mrs Sydney Knapp marked her 50th birthday on July 22 with many city and suburb visitors, including Mr and Mrs Knapp, enjoying dancing, singing, a buffet supper, and a communal sense of celebration.
A long remembered party hosted by Mr and Mrs Knapp marking their youngest son Driver Jack Knapp’s upcoming marriage. The event stands as their final social gathering with him before the wedding.
At Nepean Shire Council meeting President Dr W Rose reported a visit to Narellan railway station with Drs Rudd Watson engineer J L Spencer and Mr Grimson of the Railway Department. They discussed an access footpath from the Hume Highway to the platform costing about £300 and a plan to move the platform east by 300 yards as a better solution.

The Rev Wesley Stocks and Camden mayor Ald H B Kellsway escaped with bruises and shock after their car skidded on a wet Casula Hill road. The vehicle overturned three times and stopped on a boundary fence. A Burns milk lorry driver assisted, both men treated at the Ambulance casualty room and later driven home.
