A NSW Bar leader denounces the Prices Bill as the most oppressive since wartime controls. He notes NSW power to enter homes, seize and resell goods, and reverse the presumption of innocence, arguing the act pushes toward a bureaucratic state beyond Commonwealth measures.
Campbelltown Council held a session with Mayor Ald Solomon and Aldermen including Marlow Fitzgibbon Longhurst Clark Bursill Sedgwick. Discussions covered tree donation, sewer extension on Chamberlain Street, building proposals, road works, and borrowing limits with several items deferred for further inquiry.
The mayor reported the deaths of Mrs. E. Childs Mrs. E Hoy and Mr. E W A Helman and a sympathy motion was carried. Building approvals were granted under Ordinance 71 for several fibro dwellings and weatherboard homes with values from £1100 to £1900 in Ingleburn Glenfield and Macquarie Fields.
In Campbelltown the 1st Campbelltown Troop Committee held a special meeting at the Scout Hall to honor Miss R Payten for years of generous service. District Commissioner Hodson spoke on Jamboree plans, and Miss Payten received a Thanks Badge amid applause from attendees including Mr Hannaford, Mrs Lea, and many Scouts and friends.
