Council approves numerous new buildings and subdivisions
The Municipal Council Building Committee met on July 24 and recommended approval for multiple new constructions in Minto Ingleburn Campbelltown and Macquarie Fields including fibro and weatherboard dwellings brick homes and alterations with estimated costs ranging from 80 to 2250 pounds. Subdivisions were approved for several lots while PF L Thornton’s re subdivision was refused for suitability for building. The report was adopted.

The C D N T A will hold its annual meeting at RSL Hall on August 8 at 8 pm. The 50 60 dance by the Minto District Progress Association at the School of Arts, Minto, on July 21 was socially and financially successful. Door prize winner Miss June Sherack of Minto. Raffle prize winner Mr John Rays. Dinner competition ticket 480 from Mrs Harringtons flood relief stall on July 13 won by Mrs Wheeler of Minto.

July activity at Baby Health Centre for infants and toddlers
The Baby Health Centre logged 163 cases for under one year 2 cases for under two years and 1 case for under three years in July. New babies enrolled totalled 7 as 184 babies weighed and total attendance reached 189 with a daily average of 2g.
Petty Sessions Held at Campbelltown on July 26
The Campbelltown Petty Sessions presided by M S Truncheon dealt with naturalisation of Roland Kaupp, a minor fire arm offence by a child, guilty pleas on December 1949 firearm violations, and fines for unclean dough and adulterated mail. Cases of negligent driving and assault were noted as adjourned or dismissed.

Death of William Henry Vincent Bateson Former Campbell Town Postmaster
William Henry Vincent Bateson died in Camden Hospital on July 27 after weeks as an inmate. A Campbell Town figure, he served as postmaster for many years and later held Bowls Club roles as Hon. Treasurer and Secretary known as Boss. Funeral held Saturday at St. Peter's Church with Bowling Club members present. survived by widow and two daughters.
