Social highlights recount St. Elmo festivities on Friday the 18th with Mr and Mrs B J Allen celebrating their 32nd wedding anniversary and a daughter’s birthday. About 30 guests enjoyed music supper and praise of the Allen family for district improvements. The 31st Annual Masonic Ball in Sydney Town Hall drew about 800 attendees and funds go to Freemasons Benevolent Institution. Other community dances and a presentation to Miss Cooney marked the week.

Campbelltown Agricultural Society 23rd Annual Meeting Held
The Campbelltown Agricultural Society held its 23rd annual meeting on a Saturday evening with good member attendance. Roy L. Gamble presided in the President's absence, apologies noted from several officers. The secretary read the minutes, the annual report showed a credit balance of £121 16s 7d, and recalled the irreplaceable loss of Mr. Thos. Gamble who proposed the first Show dates.

Campbelltown Agricultural Society Adopts Balance Sheet
The Campbelltown Agricultural Society reviewed a positive year with strong member support and record income from subscriptions donations entry fees gate takings and public booths. A revised show program including bigger prizes for popular classes and new district trophies was proposed along with a canvasser and better show night attractions. The secretary announced his term ending and resignation while committee members were elected for the coming term and rule changes were discussed.

Ashfield Bowls Tour to Campbelltown Under Warm Welcome
Sir John Harrison led 16 Ashfield players to Campbelltown where Campbelltown withdrew Ashfield 86 74 in the second round of the Pairs Handicap. Campbelltown President Hannaford welcomed the visitors. Mr Spence, father of NSW bowling, praised Campbelltown and the ladies tea. Master Harry O Connor received a gift bowl from Mr Noakes of Ashfield as part of a cheerful event.

Gampballtown Rifle Club Holds Annual General Meeting
The Gampballtown Rifle Club met in the Games Room at the School of Arts on Thursday evening 24th inst with fair attendance despite bad weather. The secretary reported stable membership with likely growth this year and a full program including musketry NRA Medal and Club Handicap and Championship. A October 6 match against Liverpool on the local range ended with visitors winning by one point. Members enjoyed trips to Chatswood and Randwick where local champion 4 Frame fired in the champions match on July 12. J A Whitehouse was elected Captain.

Vice Mr A G Hardwick resigned due to move to Wollongong and received a gold mounted pipe and tobacco pouch. J A Whitehouse led club prizes with D Frame winning multiple honors including NRA Medal and greatest bulls eyes. E J King and P Kidson holds other prizes. Officers elected include Dr W Mawson president and J A Whitehouse captain with H D Evans treasurer. NRA Medal shoot dates set for 2nd 9th and 23rd at 500 and 600 yards. best four scores count.

Campbelltown Stock Sales Report Shows Mixed Prices
The fortnightly sale by auctioneer A E Baldock drew a large regional turnout. Pigs and calves sold well though cattle prices dropped overall with no statewide improvement, springers held firm, milkers and stores showing varied values across fat cattle, calves, heifers, cows, and bulls.
