Fifty years ago the Court Harmony anniversary and local athletic events were held at Caltowie with a night entertainment by Miss Laycock Leikmann and others. The ninth Bela lie Agricultural Society show drew about 1500 attendees with a dinner led by Mr G Lloyd and speeches by J Foucaut R Piper and others. A Georgetown concert benefited the local cricket club featuring Miss Lewis Marrie Gardner Kenson and performers from the Caltowie Dramatic Club and Gladstone Choral Society.
The Crystal Brook duo defeated Georgetown to win the Mid-Northern Bridge Championship in a close finals. Final scores show Crystal Brook 2,648 to Georgetown 2,268 with a 6,000 point winning margin across the series. the winning pair to receive a silver cup. Laragy of Narridy served as secretary.
