Northern District Councils and Corporations Association Annual Meeting
The Northern District Councils and Corporations Association held its annual meeting at Institute Hall Gladstone on Friday September 5 with M P J A Lyons presiding. Delegates from Gladstone Snowtown Caltowie Laura Coglin Boo GOOLie and more attended as did Hon A P Blesing M L C and R Davis Local Government. The secretary read the annual report noting a small credit balance and several retirements and departures. The group discussed Local Government Areas Act Land Valuation Bill Fines on Overdue Rates Main Road Grants and urged changes to Grants Bills and Highway funding with emphasis on fair representation and a Road Fund funded from motor taxes.
