Smeltown Institute updates hours for the Public Reading Room and Library. Library hours are Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays 3 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Reading and Subscribers Rooms open Mondays Wednesdays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Subscription options include adult 20 per year or 5 per quarter with 4 books and 2 magazines. Juvenile 2/6 per quarter or 10 per year with 2 books and 7 magazines. Reading books 14 days. magazines 7 days. The committee meets monthly. all are urged to subscribe. North Western Bowling Association Formed With Five Clubs
Delegates from Crystal Brook Jamestown Caltowie Laura Gladstone and others met at the Soldiers Memorial Hall Gladstone. The body resolved to form the North Western Bowling Association with a president two vice presidents a secretary a treasurer and two delegates per club. If a club sent one delegate that person has two votes. The annual subscription fee was discussed.

Dr A R Southwood, chairman, and Mr C Stenning addressed Councillors and district officers in Jamestown on Sept 24. They discussed health preservation, sanitation, milk and food inspection, septic tanks, and the need for local health inspectors. The meeting urged local boards to enforce health regulations and coordinate with the Central Board.

Bowling season opens at Crystal Brook and Gladstone clubs
The Crystal Brook and Gladstone Bowling Clubs open the new season tomorrow at 2.45 p.m. Both greens are in splendid condition and successful functions are expected. Brook Club president is J. Symons. Gladstone president is F. C. Grubb.

Sale Report from Jamestown Market Prices Fall Slightly
Goldsbrough Mort & Co reports its Jamestown market on 29 September saw many sheep not yarded due to Adelaide Show week and poor weather. Various lots of woolly ewes, shorn and store sheep, lambs, hoggets, aged ewes, and Merino rams sold with prices ranging down from prior rates. 27 pigs yarded with 5 sold at late rates.
