Gladstone Rifle Club Hosts West Broken Hill Visit
Members of the West Broken Hill Rifle Club joined Gladstone on Saturday arriving at 9 p.m. They attended a smoke social at the Memorial where a crystal sherry set was presented to Mr S C Coe for 29 years of service. D A Flavel marked his 71st birthday with a cake as the group planned a trip through Port Germein Gorge and Port Pirie to view the Smelters. A 10 a.m. match on Monday faced harsh conditions with a north wind and dust. The West Broken Hill Club donated £1/1 for a trophy. Ongoing shooting details show GLADSTONE 804 and WEST BROKEN HILL 731 with various shooters listed. Due to ammunition shortages, the local club will recess until further notice.
