District Council of Georgetown Minutes May 16 Meeting
District Council of Georgetown held a meeting on Monday May 16 at Sulnare. Present were Drs J A Lyons MP chairman R B White A G Thomas P J Harvey A H Tilbrook H C Williams W F Frick and District Clerk R G Odgers. Various motions covered exchange of old leased road at Narridy for a new boundary road proposed by Dr Williams and Dr Prick. Park lands at Huddleston to be leased to H M Wehr for one year from July 1 1938. Odgers appointed returning officer for annual elections with poll clerks to be soldiers if possible. Council to meet Inspector Davis at Bowman's corner Gulnare on an arranged date. Huddleston park land to be reset to Hatch at 30 per year. Several road and drainage works approved including repairs near Darleys Rowe’s, Langs and P R Smallcombe plus main street clearance. Clerk instructed to collect arrears on main road supervision allowance. Ranking members to arrange grading graveling of road near Hay’s gate. Repairs approved on Dufield’s road Hancock’s road and parkland fences. Drainage attention drawn to road near R Fuller's Yacka. Inspection of division road near Mrs EB J Thomas Guinare and creeks to be done. Clerk to meet Frick at Narridy to inspect road rolley and arrange repairs.
