District Council of Georgetown announces councillor nominations
The District Council of Georgetown invites nominations for four councillors to replace four retiring members. Nominations close at the council office by noon on June 9 1934. If more than four are nominated polling will be adjourned to July 7 1934 for a ballot election. Returning officer Robert G. Odgers appointed. Georgetown May 22 1934.

A Bridge Evening hosted by the Light Horse Social Club at the Town Hall Supper Room yielded a merry night with the 3.8.A. and Bowling Club support. Prizes were won by Mrs. J. W. Goodes and Dr. E. J. Harbison. proceeds support Sta. Social Club and Miss Anzac benefiting the A.S.A League and Memorial Park. The Jamestown Male Voice Choir, formed November 18, 1931, under J. Shorray, promotes charity concerts with about 30 members. A Golf Club gathering at the Institute Hall featured guests from nearby towns. proceeds help local causes. The event plan includes a May 1 Institute concert to aid local institutes.
