The Presentation Ball at Crystal Brook Institute on May 14 in aid of Anglican Parish funds drew seventeen girls presented to Port Pirie Mayor and Mayoress Mr. and Mrs. Middleton. Master of Ceremonies Rex Sutcliffe announced the event while music by the Andrews Sisters Orchestra accompanied the formal presentations and supper.

Motorcycle Fatality on Mannanarie Road
Robert Leslie Storer aged 24 was killed instantly when thrown from his motorcycle on Mannanarie Road while en route to Leigh Creek. His friend T Watts, riding behind, found him after the bike struck a pot hole. Storer, son of Mr and Mrs L A Storer of Glenunga, was reportedly travelling solo when the accident occurred.
