Jamestown Hospital Board Meets For May Session

Jamestown Hospital Inc. board met Friday May 12 with members Daly Moore Symonds McCallum and others. The April accounts and salaries were approved, Sister Bartholomew relieved, Kerin elected to Yeomans’ vacancy, and visiting hours set at 3 4 pm and 7 8 pm. An inspector praised emergency stores and a cement tank project was to be pursued with a letter and possible interview.

Gladstone FFCF Ladies Host Adelaide Visitor in War Support

Over fifty women attended a social at Memorial Hall Gladstone on May 11 hosted by FFCF supervisor Mrs. W Shephard from Adelaide. The visit highlighted FFCF work for troops with parcels, knitted goods and medical aid, and funds raised for the Pin-up competition. A cheque for 43 pounds was sent to headquaters as the event showcased strong home front support.
