Death of Mr H Destree at Adelaide hospital
Regret was expressed at Gladstone when it became known that Mr H G Destree had died on Saturday at a private hospital in Adelaide. Destree was well known in Gladstone as local manager for Elder Smith & Co. After leaving Gladstone he settled at the Grange where he resided until his death. He is survived by a widow and a son and daughter Dick and Jeanne.

Booleroo Centre Branch of the Fighting Forces Comforts Fund ceased activities on January 31 1946 and wound up affairs. Hon. Secretary Mrs W Barclay reports a strong record of support during the war, with £2427 7s 8d raised and hundreds of woollen items dispatched to service personnel. A Welcome Home Sports Meeting and dance will open the new Honour Hall on March 30 1946, inviting all district service personnel.

Gladstone Football Club Revives With New Officers
The Gladstone Football Club held its annual meeting with J. M. Read presiding. Members decided to reform the club, affiliate with the NAPA, and elect officers including Patron W. H. Cockburn and President J. M. Read. Members agreed on self-supplied uniforms, set fees, transport, and ground improvements at the Gladstone District Council.
