The following evening the annual meeting featured a Presidential address by Rev Lee LTh of the NDB Association, plus songs and a supper. Local football vs Crystal Brook ended tied 9 goals 17 to 9 goals 12 with Carmody and Wellington scoring for Georgetown. next they travel to Clare for four games.

District Council Meeting at Guluare May 24 1937
District Council of Georgetown met at Guluare on Monday May 24 1937 with Dr J A Lyons MP chairing. Members discussed insanitary premises in Georgetown, stray cattle handling, unused Yacka Pound for 12 months, roads correspondence, road works preference for local contractors through Narridy, planting trees in Yacka Street, and notices to contractors about meeting changes. The council also moved to thank the chairman for electric light at Gus and to seek government support for Augorichina Hostel and praise for Yackit Street bitumenising.

Coronation assembly at Gladstone High School marks year plan
Before the May break Gladstone High School held an assembly with the Parents Association and High School Council to honor the Coronation. Miss Vaudrey led the National Anthem and the School Hymn. Top students received prizes, and the event ended with the flag salute and National Anthem. Afternoon tea followed hosted by the Parents Association with plans for a June 8 variety afternoon.
