Red Cross Concert At Gladstone Delights Local Crowd
A July 17 benefit at the Gladstone Institute drew bumper attendance for the Laura Concert Party with local artists. A 12 piece orchestra led by W S Jarrett performed, plus choruses sketches and a one act play. Mrs Kelly impersonation by F C Grubb drew praise. Gladstone High School students under Reg Waldeck received vociferous applause. J G Deeble handed Laura Company a £10 share of proceeds. Red Cross Circle ladies sold hot pasties at halftime, raising a satisfactory amount.
