Tribute to Charles Budge A long-serving town figure honored
In appreciation of Mr. Charles Budge, a highly respected townsman with a unique Commonwealth record. He has served as Mayor, Councillor, Town Clerk for 38 years, District Council Clerk for 40, and held numerous official posts. Notable achievements include flood protection works, Tresylva Park and Ewart Grounds plans, and railway research across Blyth, Gladstone, Laura to Bouloereo.

District Council Elections at Gladstone Elects North and East Ward Winners
Elections were held at Gladstone on Saturday to fill North and East Ward vacancies. C. H. Lines won North Ward with 31 votes to Harris 24 and Bennett 13, while A. M. Flinn was elected East Ward with 30 votes to Jones 14. A. Lee was unopposed in West Ward.

Gladstone Rifle Club final shoot tallies year end
The Gladstone Rifle Club held its final shoot of the year on June 7 a doubles pairs event at Adevide. P A Lines led with 45 409 and 46, winning the day sweepstake with W Phoinson. The year’s aggregates saw Lines and Thomson top the year totals, with Coe Dowling Pascoe and Zerbe among top placers. The annual meeting on July 1 saw officers elected as Gray captain Zerbe secretary Pascoe treasurer and Lines as caretaker of the range.
