Farewell Service For Gladstone Church Member Listed
Gladstone Methodist Church held a farewell for Mr. XN. Blesine called from the Reserve List for service in the Air Force. The event included tributes from church groups and a presentation, with singing and a social hour. Comrades and Knights met to elect officers and discuss church matters at Adelaide. Services next Sunday will see replacements in Gladstone and Yangya churches with final minister stationing read next Thursday.

Georgetown Coursing Club Elects Officers At Annual Meeting
The Georgetown Coursing Club held its annual meeting at a hotel last Saturday evening with Mr. George Ferme presiding. A sixteen day stake is planned for June 25 to benefit the Red Cross and FCF funds, with luncheon provided by both organizations and all net profits to them. Officers and committee were elected, lists show Patron J A Lyons and President G Ferme among others, and a note urged ending hare shooting to protect the sport and local dogs.

Jamestown CWA Branch Reopens In Wartime Meeting
A well attended Thursday meeting marked the reopening of the Jamestown CWA Branch after a two month recess. President Mrs W Batley chaired as Spalding visitors and new member Mrs Coats were welcomed. The group planned wartime handicraft drives for Red Cross and Fighting Forces Comfort funds, a March sheepskins vest project, and considered moving monthly meetings to the first Thursday. Plans include lace washer competitions, an April exhibition with half proceeds to Red Cross and F.P.C.F, and support for a War Unit.
