Admission is 4 shillings for gentlemen and 2 shillings for ladies.

Goldsbrough Mert Co Ltd to hold monthly Crystal Brook market Dec 27 offering 225 sheep 34 cattle pigs poultry sundries with date changes due to Christmas holidays.
The Committee of the Gladstone Institute expresses gratitude to Patrona of an Hall and Library and offers best wishes. The note conveys appreciation and well wishes to the institution and its patrons.
Mr and Mrs Harold Osman of Gladstone thank friends for expressions of sympathy in their sad bereavement.
On December 23 1928 the Church of England holds Holy Communion at 9 am and Evensong at 7 pm with Christmas carols and special choral services at Georgetown and Clover Hill led by Rev D Shaw and Rev T Geddes White. Christmas Day features Holy Communion at 7 46 am and a Methodist devotional service at 10 30 am. The 30th lists Glidstone services at 11 am and 7 pm and Yangya at noon and 3 pm under Rev T Geddes White.
At the Gladstone Police Court John Thomas Smith pleaded guilty to refusing to quit the Commercial Hotel when ordered. He was fined 10 shillings and costs 10 shillings on the first charge and £5 and 10 shillings costs of one month's imprisonment on the second. Messrs. W Hancock and W Growden adjudicated.
On Sunday evening the Methodist Church hosts a Christmas service led by Rev. T. Geddes White. A brief address on Christianity and the affect Religion will accompany a Christmas Anthem and carols sung by the choir with Miss Jean White at the organ.
The Ancient Order of Foresters Court Gladstone Lodge will replace its fifty year old flag hung outside Institute Hall. The decision came at the December 11 half year meeting after a note of the flag’s long service and its association with member deaths.

The death of Sergeant J. P. Dowling occurred at Manoora on Wednesday morning December 19. Dowling had served about forty years in the Police Force and was regarded as an efficient officer. His son, Mr J F Dowling, manages the Gladstone Branch of the National Bank. The notice extends condolences to the bereaved and promises a fuller report in the next issue.
The annual continental in aid of the Ornamental Grounds Fund will be held on Monday 28 January 1929 at Tresylva Park. The programme features Buster Keaton and Sally ONeill in Battling Butler, Pleasure Bound, Pathe news, a New Zealand scenic, and Pelix Rings the Ringer. Ribbon dances by school children and electric illumination promise a fine evening. A ladies meeting to arrange stalls is set for Friday 11 January.
A Christmas Tree and Tea party was held for the kindergarten at Gladstone Methodist Sunday School. Ida Clark and assistants prepared a lively program with action songs around the tree. Father Christmas arrived to give each child a toy and sweets before tea. Parents attended and enjoyed the event.
The Gladstone branch of the Returned Soldiers held a Christmas Tree event at the Memorial Hall. About forty children attended with Father Christmas (Mr. T. J. Brown) giving gifts, sweets, fruit, and drinks. The event was organized by branch officials led by President B. C. Jarvis and Secretary H. T. Harslett, praised for bringing festive joy.
