Gladstone War Drill and St John Ambu lances Highlight Local Efforts
Pride of place this week goes to the F C ladies at Gladstone for their meritorious air raid demonstrations. The V S D formed last August with 24 members, and a long list of officers, held meetings and presented a chromium ink stand to Mr Wakefield. The Red Cross Circle raised its £80 7s 6d quota with an American Afternoon, and sent a £100 cheque to Headquarters. The issue notes successful Q C exam results, a new recruit for the A I Force, rifle club scores, and a large Rifle Club parade plus a roof loss at Mr Sander’s property.
