The Mayor of Jamestown calls a meeting of residents to help provide Christmas cheer for those in need. The gathering is at the Corporation Office opposite the Post Office at 8 PM on Tuesday 17 December. Gifts may be left at Miss Walter's shop or the Review Office.
The Auditor General of South Australia for the year ended June 20 1929 shows officers classified pass books and records of District Councils and Corporations as satisfactory fairly satisfactory and unsatisfactory. Among District Councils 14 were satisfactory 57 fairly satisfactory 14 unsatisfactory. among Corporations there were satisfactory fairly satisfactory and 9 unsatisfactory. Congratulates A McDonald Clerk and Surveyor District Council of Caltowie and W Naismith Clerk Corporation of Jamestown on first class. notes Mid Northern Councils avoided the third class.
Jamestown amateur swimming club presents the 1929-30 season opener at Jamestown baths on Saturday with events from 3 to 5 pm and 7:30 to 10 pm. The fourth and final payment to growers from the 1928 29 Wheat Pool will be distributed on Thursday December 19. It amounts to two pence per bushel net, bringing total returns to 4 5d per bushel less freight to terminals. Certificates will be credited to bank accounts. Directors note they expected at least 2 3d per bushel but a sharp fall in wheat values late September to November reduced receipts.

Paruna Wheat Pool scheme asks applicants to apply before November to total agents, who will allocate wheat, mark varieties, and deliver via the Pool, with buyers paying market price plus a small farmer premium. The Treasury explains new interest schedule for Commonwealth securities, moving from June and December to ten monthly payments. Next month 3,899,000 is due before the 10 million loan closes, with similar June payment. Other months list payments: January July 307,000. February August 1,493,000. March September 2,020,000.
