Strawberry Fete at Gladstone Raises About £100
A strawberry fete held in Gladstone on Friday afternoon to aid St. Peter's new church drew a large crowd. Mayoress Mrs Bennett opened the event and received a bouquet from Mavis Bynne. Sales during the afternoon and at the evening dance totaled around £100 with many stalls run by local ladies and helpers listed by name.

Dance at Hall Draws Large Attendance in Oppressive Heat

The President J T Borgin chaired thirteen members. Minutes were read and adopted. Treasurer's statement showed a balance of 262/7/8. Hall repairs and furniture were debated with decisions to refer starter work back to the Lavatory Committee and procure an iron box for the house. Welcome extended to H H Hill and H J Hillier with Hillier nominated treasurer. A scholarship funded by G W Keadrew and E B Barclay was approved.
