Water Turned On in Georgetown Ends Drought Years
On August 1 1994 Georgetown celebrated the long awaited water supply. Peter Murrie turned on the main, with community leaders and mourners including Mr J Darley noted for his tireless advocacy. A civic reception followed at the hall with guests from nearby towns and a grand leap year ball preceding the event.
