E. V. Clift defeated R. M. Cox to win the Jamestown Golf Club Club Championship. Final rounds used a dual system with stroke results reversed by hole play. Clift romped from eleventh to fifteenth holes in a 4 up 4 to play finish. Dr B J Harbison holed out in one in the semi final, drawing praise.

The Gladstone Rifle Club held a 600 yard competition on 2u/sy12 with 74 shots per double rounds. Weather favored shooters as eight reached the 100 limit. J G McMahon led with 47-4 and captured top prize in the minor sweepstakes. Leading aggregates list R W Lines 268 and G Coc 268 with Hamlicup and Lines noted high scores and bullseyes by Lines and Coc.
