In Gladstone a typo overpaid Gwen Heard to £333 11s instead of £33 11s, with the contest raising £619 1s 10d and Gwenda Harslett earning £1216 9s 5d year to date. Final Gladstone votes: Gwenda Harslett 50 712, Gwen Heard 44 216, Lois Mundy 27 339, Joan Turley 14 948.
At the annual meeting of Mannanarie CWA the officers were elected with Mrs. J. M. Robinson as president and Mrs. G. S. Young as vice president. Miss I. Bretag is secretary and treasurer. committee members include Mesdames Hall Hall Cun dy Bretag and Miss M. Spayin. Donations from Emergency Funds supported Quorn CWA Prisoners of War Salvation Army Red Shield and other causes throughout the year. Hampers are sent monthly to the Cheer-up Hut.
