The Laura Rifle Club visited Gladstone on Saturday and tied a double 600 yard match amid cold showers and a right wind. Gladstone won by 32 points and will shoot against Blyth on August 10 at Gladstone with a list of selected shooters led by Capt. R. H. Coe and H. M. Pascoe.

Port Adelaide River Deepening Costs Soar
The Harbours Board chair notes the 1915 estimate for deepening the Port Adelaide River at £305,000. Current cost rises to £670,000 due to wage and price increases. Increases include coal at 80 percent higher, dredging crew wages up 84 percent, general labour 78 percent. wheat and wool cheaper. Question: who will pay the deficit.
