Obituary for James Roy Maitland of Jamestown family
James Roy Maitland died at Prince of Wales Military Hospital Randwick NSW on 26 July after a long military career and a lung battle wound from World War I. Born 1889 at Belalie he served as Regimental Sergeant Major with the 18th Battalion NSW, later became a military instructor in several cities, retired in 1934, and underwent surgery to remove a ballistic fragment. He leaves a widow, a daughter Mavis, his mother, and two sisters.
