Two Accidents Mar School Workers In Georgetown
In Georgetown last week Mr Colin Inglis, an employee of W H Mumford, sprained his shoulder after a load fell on him and will be idle for over a week. Mr Jim Jolly, working for J J Kelly Jr, cut a deep gash in a foot while lopping fallen trees and will be laid up for some time. A football dance at the Institute drew disappointing attendance due to weather. The rainfall remains light. crops show growth and feed is scarce due to cold. The local golf club notes eleven players entered the International Competition. Mrs P R Smallacombe and Mrs H Freeman tied in the bronze division, Smallacombe winning on count back and receiving the cup. Freeman gets a trophy. Smallacombe’s long service as club president cited alongside Mrs Freeman as foundation member. both reduced handicaps by ten and bring Georgetown into golf prominence.
