Country Folk and the Referendum Debate
A reflective piece urging Australians to focus on constitutional reform, praising non party cooperation at the 1942 Convention, and warning against politicising the referendum. It recalls postwar planning needs for soldiers, inflation controls, and a smooth transition to peacetime work. It cites Sir Isaac Isaacs and prior war experiences to argue for timely, powersful government action.
