Gladstone Institute annual meeting outlines finances and plans
The Gladstone Institute subscribed members met at Memorial Hall with President L Carn presiding. The annual report by F C Barter shows improved finances with a reduction of the year’s deficit from £609 17s 9d to £580 12s 7d. Items include committee changes, praise for the Ladies Committee, library activity, book and magazine sales, and a new system making certain books property of the Institute. Discussion covered overdraft rates, and a proposed annex to the building, with a western-side addition favored by trustees. Continued on Page 4.

Birthday meeting marks 45th year of Jamestown P W M A
A pleasant July afternoon at Jamestown Presbyterian Church celebrated the 45th Birthday meeting of the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Association. President Mrs Shields presided as churches from Anglican Methodist Salvation Army and Spalding attended. The Rev G Anderson spoke on Korea and women in the gospel. a birthday cake with 45 candles was cut. The sewing group reported 101 garments and rugs valued at £12 15.
