South Australian Bowling Team Visits Gladstone
A South Australian Bowling Association party from Adelaide toured Gladstone on Monday April 19, visiting Bunda Jeer Forest and playing a five rink match against Gladstone clubs. The visitors led by Mr Andrew Young defeated Gladstone 21 by 23 with team members listed for Moonta Jamestown Caltowie Laura Crystal Brook and others.

Anzac services at Memorial Hall drew strong attendance with Rev L G Brook presiding. A combined Anglican and Baptist choir performed Homeland with Mrs Wellington at the organ. Wreaths, a two minute silence, and a TB Soldiers fund collection exceeded £2 11s. Institute sports and a Booleroo Centre football match followed in fine weather, with prizes and an evening dance and supper boosting funds. A large crowd attended an April 21 welcome social at Gladstone Methodist Church for Rev. G. R Parrott his wife and family. Circuit Steward Mr. FE Clothier presided and wished the Parrotts a pleasant stay. Speakers included R. G Glenn B Barrett and Mrs. B A Gale with responders the Rev and Mrs Parrott. A program of remarks and readings by Mrs H V Hill Miss Mary Coe Kath Venning and Joy Glenn preceded a supper to close the evening.
