Northern Picnic Carnival Marred by Rain on Anzac Day
A rain soaked Anzac Day at Jamestown Show Grounds saw the Northern Picnic Carnival under St James Catholic Church and RSLA auspices open with a wreath laying by Dr M V Prendergast. Despite heavy showers the event drew large crowds with cycling and pedestrian contests, a Sun Light Horse unit, and a late afternoon halt, plus a hall gathering at Jamestown Institute with many visitors and a large supper by St James Church women.
