Thompson has 444 wins, Moore 23 more, then Cook, with Sellwood at 233. Bayly Payten leads trainers with 244 wins, ten ahead of Maurice McCarten. George Johnson and Jim MecCurley have 14 wins each. George scored a double at Randwick with Huarette and Puffham.
The long standing rift between jockey Jack Thompson and Randwick trainer Frank Dalton is healed. Thompson will ride El Senor, trained by Dalton, in Saturday’s Warwick May Handicap. Thompson had not ridden Dalton's horses since Cragside at Rosehill before the A J C Autumn meeting. All racegoers cheer the return of the old firm.
