Mr Harrie Evans announced at Rosehill that a 50 pound trophy will go to the Canterbury Stakes winner at the club meeting on September 9. This marks the first time a trophy is awarded to the winner of a weight for age race.

Notable names include St Elmo, Kingstep, John Halifax, Trial, Corisande, Cradle Song, Vanity Lady and Flying and Welter classifications.
