Buzalong Wins Caulfield Cup Despite Colic and Fast Pace
Buzalong, after a strong run in the Metropolitan, faced a severe colic setback and drifted back. He surged to the front by the three furlong post, held off rivals like Avenger and Saint Constant, and won the Caulfield Cup in a bold display. Marauder and Es longhand showed solid form, with St Constant praised for an exceptional performance despite a late start. The Cup outlook points to a strong Melbourne Cup field led by Buzalong, Marauder, Spear Chief, and St Constant.
