Golf Notes on Conscription Motion Divides Delegates
A NSW golf association debate over a motion by President Windeyer urged clubs to bar unmarried men who did not enlist. Delegates split, with critics arguing it could be unworkable or unpatriotic, while supporters said it would strengthen public opinion and duty. Windeyer cited national impact, noting senior club leaders across towns and the need to set an example for other sports.

Australian swimmer Durack and America tour plans debate
A January 23 letter to Mrs Hugh D McIntosh of the NSW Ladies Amateur Swimming Association disputes American reports that Miss Durack would visit the United States under Jimmy Clatby's management. It argues such a plan would bar meetings with Australian champions and contradict AAU and union guidelines, asserting the proposed touring conditions are impractical and unlikely to proceed.
