Ranks of Labor Reported From Trades Hall Meetings

Reports from the Trades Hall outline union activities across several sectors. The Electrical Workers' Union seeks a deputation to the Lord Mayor, with a reply to refer matters to the electric lighting committee and a conference planned with the Railway Department to settle the dispute. Clerks at the Sydney General Post Office face long hours and minimal overtime pay, prompting planned actions and federations talks. Marble workers continue a strike with possible conference on the 12th, while employer relations remain amicable. The Amalgamated Railway and Tramway Association votes to send a deputation to the Railway Commissioners for service improvements, and a large painters strike fund receives support from the Trades Council. Public opposition arises to the Industrial Wages Bill from gas employees and sewer miners unions.
