A list-like OCR fragment references ships, ports, and voyages with scattered dates and places. It mentions July events, maritime routes, and named vessels, but the text is garbled and partial, offering only hints of naval activity and travel patterns.
A fragmentary 19th century-style discussion argues taxation should fund government and public needs, not punish or favor classes. It frames taxation as a social compact underpinning order, warns against close taxation or exemptions, and references Great Britain Russia and Austria as contrasts. The piece notes the need for broader consensus on tariff principles and the role of protectionism in national unity.
Our English section presents a London Correspondent report dated March 22. It notes discussion of Australia emigration and mentions Mr. Lave as a candidate for a seat in the House of Commons. The piece also references published copies of leading London journals and delays in public notices.
