Davis belleA real life Indian girl will be among the participants surrounding the crowning of the next Golden Girl of the Old West as 15 year old Wendy Ponca of Fort Davis represents her city as an out of town belle in the Golden Girl court.Miss Ponca, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ponca, is a genuine Osage Indian girl who will grace the events surrounding the affair here June 30.Along with her natural heritage as a genuine part of the Old West, MissPonca brings to Pecos a long list of activities in which she takes a part in Fort Davis’ Central High School.She serves as a cheerleader, a member of the school annual staff, has served as class treasurer and is a member of the Fort Davis 4-H club. This club membership will send her to the state contests in Austin this year.Favorite pasttimes for Miss Ponca include piano playing.
