Public Not Assisting in Straight Out Giving Appeal
At a Patriotic Committee meeting, Mr R V Seymour reported August receipts from the citizen stamp scheme totaling £2000 10 93 with three weeks remaining in the six month period. First six months raised £1010 15 3 and £1001 0 9 in the next period, showing consistency but public response remains inadequate. Many are not donating, including high earners, and some households on about £20 weekly give only Sd per week. War effort rhetoric urges citizens to act.
