The Braybrook Shire Council allocates 59 737 pounds for running costs and essential services over the coming year. Total available funds reach 87 272 pounds with a 2 466 pound balance. General road works of 20 010 pounds and reserves of 4 000 pounds are planned, funded by stock sales and council receipts.
The Shire President Dr R A Barrett and Max Barreth welcomed guests in a garden themed hall on Thursday afternoon. Mayoresses and local officials attended an entertaining program by James Gawne with performers Freda Northcote Joy Drinkmilk Beneath Wilkon Tex Nelan and Gawne. Tea was served as Mrs Barrett wore aqua and blue accessories with a bouquet in matching tones.
The Child Care Committee points to the need for a Central School at Sunshine State School to serve children not suited for technical education. Currently, local pupils must travel to Footweray for high school courses, a burden deemed undesirable for ten year olds.

The ex student of Sunshine Technical School is an engineering student aiming to complete technical courses with the RAN and is noted for commendable conduct and leadership among cadets.
