Braybrook Council's Public Works committee accepted J. H. Wheelahan's tender of 9904 pounds 6 shillings 6 pence for Glengala Road Ryde and Mernda Streets West Sunshine. The estimate was 9432 pounds. Cost per foot is 2 shillings 6 pence versus 2 shillings 3 pence 3 pence. Dr R Barclay called the tender reasonable, within 10 percent of the estimate.

S M Gives Advice to Young Couple

Josephine Mary Keating of Hamel Street Sunshine sought a maintenance order from her husband of the same address Mrs Keating described a troubled marriage. She said they wed on 2th March this year when she was seventeen and that he verbally abused her and threatened harm including striking her. He allegedly denied paternity of their unborn child and paid only a few shillings while他 covered bills and clothes. S M Gloster advised settlement and adjourned the case for four weeks urging the couple to talk.
