Spiller claimed he towed stones under sub contract for a sea wall project at Hampton. He said orders came from Starbuck and he acted after mistaken directions. The caretaker denied implied consent. Judge dismissed the charge, finding no felonious intent.
Cr A Pennell accused councillors of pressuring the Engineer during ward day sparking a rebuke from Shire President Cr A Beachley who urged restraint. Cr Dobson objected to the remark and Pennell promised to temper his language as the council returned to discussing grass cutting on cricket pitches.
At Bray Brook Council meeting on Monday Shire Engineer Mr H Robinson warned widening the St Al bans Sunshine Road railway bridge is a big job. He said widening the approaches would be the Council’s responsibility and urged a caution sign if the bridge isn’t widened. Dr Barclay supported the safety note.

Braybrook Council's Public Works committee accepted J. H. Wheelahan's tender of 9904 pounds 6 shillings 6 pence for Glengala Road Ryde and Mernda Streets West Sunshine. The estimate was 9432 pounds. Cost per foot is 2 shillings 6 pence versus 2 shillings 3 pence 3 pence. Dr R Barclay called the tender reasonable, within 10 percent of the estimate.
Josephine Mary Keating of Hamel Street Sunshine sought a maintenance order from her husband of the same address Mrs Keating described a troubled marriage. She said they wed on 2th March this year when she was seventeen and that he verbally abused her and threatened harm including striking her. He allegedly denied paternity of their unborn child and paid only a few shillings while他 covered bills and clothes. S M Gloster advised settlement and adjourned the case for four weeks urging the couple to talk.
