Private water pipes spark disorder along Maidstone street
Wallace Street residents let private pipes tap the water main from Ballarat Road causing a patchwork supply. Officials later extended the main along Thomson to Norfolk Street and demanded a changeover. Potholes and torn bitumen follow the messy reconnections as residents ponder delays and lack of foresight. In other news, Maidstone and Footscray clubs report tennis results, gym display at St Johns Pickett Street, and a Sunshine Hall event with Miss Stewart pupils.
