The South Road Railway Estate kindergarten may delay other planned kindergartens such as Sunshing and Maidstone projects. Dr. J McDonald told the health committee the council must support longtime kindergarten committees. Railways will supply a Nissen hut costing about £2000 to convert, with a £2250 government grant and £750 council shortfall. Dr Dempster supported the plan and a costless site request to Railways.
